I am trying to remove brittle old putty/cement from a beveled glass door made in 1850. Any suggestions on how to remove this old brittle cement?
Hi everybody, whilst soldering today my lead was melting more than I've ever experienced (doesn't happen often and I'm new to this) my iron is a Wellar and one I was advised to get but it doesn't have a thermostat, a too hot iron is the only reason I can think of that the lead would melt, also, I'm not holding the iron on the joint too long, it's literally a touch then off but leaves a hole in the came! Hoping you all have a remedy for me. Thanks Mairi
I want to make a stained glass trellis using a metal trellis from the lawn and garden store. I made a trial run at it and wrapped the bars with copper foil and then the glass and soldered the two together but I'm thinking there has to be a better way. Any ideas
Still new to stained glass and want to learn as much as I can!

I am wanting to put four rectangular panels together to hang as a lamp. I am planning on edging in brass came. My concern is how to hang this? I thought about soldering a brass D ringonnthe inside but I am concerned that it won't hold. Each panel will be 6x8". I plan to hang with a chain. Thank you.
I live in new Orleans and have taken classes in copper foil. I want to take a class in lead caming any suggestions?

where xan i buy stained glass tools in sweden?
Hi Betts. I just joined too, and I also live in cottage country in Ontario. I started stained glass a couple of years ago while on a holiday in Mexico, and like doing projects that are abstract designs. My main problems are finding designs and patterns. Do you do your own?
BettsFor larger projects I do design my own, sometimes if I just feel like doing something small I use patterns, usually from pattern books I have purchased.

Not sure where to start ...
I stumbled upon this site today and knew I needed to join. As a birthday gift many years ago my husband signed me up for a stained glass course. I was instantly hooked! I reside in cottage country in Ontario with my husband and two himmies.
